It would appear that they want a King.

This is what happens when people either don't learn history or forget it.

Seriously.... a leader completely absolved of any criminal wrong-doing? (Well, at least at the State level.)

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/gop-weighs-protecting-trump-with-law-shielding-ex-presidents-from-prosecution/ar-AA194DEA?ocid=hpmsn&pc=U483&cvid=bba6174b619b4add9ee2ec32cf355d05&ei=15

GOP weighs protecting Trump with law shielding ex-presidents from prosecution

“Therefore, the Committee on the Judiciary, as a part of its broad authority to develop criminal justice legislation, must now consider whether to draft legislation that would, if enacted, insulate current and former presidents from such improper state and local prosecutions,” they said.

“Because your impending indictment of a former President is an issue of first impression, the Committees require information from your office to inform our oversight”.

***************************

I imagine this is just a smoke screen. First of all, such a law would most definitely be unconstitutional on the basis of the Separation of Powers. It's certainly a danger to the checks and balances the Founding Fathers envisioned.

But they don't actually have to PASS the legislation, but merely say that they're considering it. That way, they can claim "legislative purpose" to haul Bragg in there.

It's a massive attempt to cover up and more obstruction......

Jordan's constant harassment of the investigators to which the feds have no authority tells me there is a large group of bogus republicans looking at an indictment.

Can we say a massive push to cover up thus trying to end any further prosecution activity. To stop the end of bogus republican rule in its' tracks.

Yes I said a cover up is underway though may not be successful.

Since Jim Jordan has been informed that his posse can't order NY State prosecutors to appear for questioning, they now say they want to talk to Bragg for research on future legislation.

It's a loophole, but will it fly? They aren't claiming any impropriety by the prosecutors now, so an appearance may just be a legal courtesy for the purpose of edification. This bill has nothing to do with writing laws and everything to do with protecting TFG to prevent an indelible stain on the party. They have no intention of voting on this law.

I think "screw you, we don't have time to help you do your job" may be a proper reply to Gym Jordan.

It is biblical. When the Israelites left Egypt Moses set up a representative government. As soon as they got established in Palestine, they demanded that God give them a King. Representative government requires that the people think and make decisions for themselves. Much easier to have a King making the decisions. No thinking required. I have had angry responses from distant family when I suggested that they think. Thinking requires work. Better a benevolent despot.

More than a million dead in this country because of COVID and the response he bungled so bad?

An attempted overthrow of democracy?

A weakening of alliances?

Deregulation?

Installing corrupt justices who brought forth suffering (forced birth) on millions of women?

Appeasing and befriending dictators?

What do they miss?

Crises are a part of life and things each nation must confront. Not only has this cancer been disastrous at managing a crisis, he himself is one.

I think the Democrats should surprise these asshats and PASS such legislation right now.

First beneficiary? Joe Biden, who then would be free to do whatever the hell he needs to do to get Trump and the other MAGAts dealt with legally and aboveboard. Then Republicans can take all the squawk about going after Biden if they steal power and stick it where their brains are.
