At what point would IRS start looking into trump's income tax?

If there's evidence that he filed false business records to hide a crime, then it certainly seems likely that he knowingly filed false deductions on his income tax for those years.
Fox News may confuse viewers with "if they can do this to him, they can do it to anybody" bolony, but EVERYBODY understands what happens when you cheat the IRS.

Obviously it wouldn't have happened while one of TFG's stooges was heading the agency, but it could happen now, and we wouldn't know because those investigations aren't public while they are in progress - assuming there aren't enough lower-level stooges still in the agency to throw sand in the gears.

And there may still be some trying to make any investigation difficult if not impossible now.

I wonder if real estate valuation is something they really want to go into big time. There is variability everywhere and all the time. I suspect taxing authorities don't challenge them because eventually, when properties are sold, the relativity evens out and taxes are paid. To go after a big time real estate developer would be to wonder why they don't go after all of them. They're everywhere, in every city and town. Pure speculation I know but I see relativity in what seems like hard numbers. Not saying Trump didn't push the limits, but still.

I was thinking of the efforts to disguise the hush money payments. To declare them as legal expenses, then file taxes accordingly, seems like an obvious crime of tax fraud.

I assume since James referred it over for criminal prosecution, it is possible we will see criminal charges stem from that. Particularly for Eric.
