(2,050 posts)I quit drinking 26 years 2 months and 19 days ago, back in the early 90s I had become sick of Budweiser being the only beer sold in the towns bars and in a can only
So I tried coors light, I drank it twice but not to drunkenness and both times I ended up with a huge headache, it became the last time I drank any as I didnt want a repeat
So I missed all of the ongoing craft beer era but did try some whatneys red ale I think it was, Ive always wondered what Zima tastes like although Ive been told I didnt miss much

I am a horrid beer snob, so for me to recco a beer of that type, I can assure you it is good.
https://liveoakbrewing.com/pre-war-pils/
Notes: After the repeal of prohibition, World War I still loomed large in public consciousness. Consequently, these beers were commonly known as pre-war pilsners. This 1912 recipe, mashed with one-third corn grits in a cereal decoction mash is a fine example of American early 1900s brewing.

(6,445 posts)the beers are amazing. But what a fucking hassle! It's like when Heady Topper was a big deal. I don't like crowds. Their brewery is really nice, but always, always, always busy. Great beer, but not worth the manufactured problems to get the beer (IMHO).

In no order, the best breweries atm, IMHO (I am sure I have forgotten some)
Hill Farmstead, Vermont
Brouwerij Westvleteren, Belgium (obviously every wants the holy grail 12, but I am (and have been for years) in the deepest of love with the 8 aka the Blue cap, probably the best dubbel I have ever had still, and close to the best beer, period, certainly top 10)
Omnipollo, Stockholm, Sweden
Tree House, Massachusetts
Mikkeller, Copenhagen, Denmark
Toppling Goliath, Iowa
Cloudwater Brewing, UK
Side Project, Missouri
Trillium, Massachusetts
Närke Kulturbryggeri, Sweden
Russian River Brewing, CA
Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen, Belgium
Cigar City, Tampa, Florida
Buxton Brewery, UK
Firestone Walker, California
Three Floyds, Indiana
Founders, Michigan
Brouwerij De Molen, Netherlands
The Alchemist, Vermont
AleSmith, San Diego, CA
end
Bonus
Scratch Brewing, Ava, Illinois (sleeper, someone did a tasting at at a bar here in Stockholm, and that little brewery makes some of the most interesting beers I have ever had, hyper local sourced, crazy inventive, very Swedish, in a way, lol, they would SO fit in here)
https://www.scratchbeer.com/
Ava, Illinois, is an hour and forty minutes southeast of St. Louis. Scratch, a back-to-the-land throwback, is ten more minutes outside of towndown a gravel road, past two hand-painted signs, on the edge of seventy-five acres of woodland nirvana.
After miles of highway and farm fields, youll be happy to, finally, walk up to the black walnut bar and order a pawpaw weiss, a blackberry-lavender wild ale, or a hickory bark stout. Your options will vary, depending on whats in the woods and gardens.

Honestly, if you can't drink real beer, settle for actual water.
Oh, and "it's gender" means "is is gender", which makes zero sense at all.

(5,486 posts)In all seriousness, this is just more Ur-Fascism intended to promote unity and groupthink among Republicans. MTG is contributing here to enforcing who the common enemy for the Fascists are. Its not about beer at all.

Apart from anything else, three-toes, you apparently have terrible taste in beer.
Coors, aka colorado kool-ade, and rocky mountain panther p***. As beer drinkers say here, "to call coors "light" is redundant. To call it beer insults actual beer."
Please note that these comments came from actual beer drinkers, which I am not. Given those thoughts, I never could figure out its attraction, as demonstrated in "Smoky and the Bandit".
