For those inclined to defend Kaitlin Collins at CNN Town Hall

Just remember this is a woman who wrote articles that ranked the hotness factor of Syrian refugees for Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller and whined about how high the skirts of Obama's daughters were.

She's not a real journalist and never has been. She's a trashy gossip columnist for white supremacists.

Her background is irrelevant unless you're claiming intentional bias.

I watched the program and she was consistently challenging his answers with facts.

I must admit I'm surprised at the number of people who said they'd never watch who know all the details.

they both engage in right wing talking points, just because MSNBC puts a left slant on the talking points it is still talking about them.

I said I was going to watch some of the town hall simply to critique it, I will now go back to only watching Nicolle Wallace, forgive me for my one time sin. I will say 5 Our Fathers and 5 Hail Mary's and hope for forgiveness.

Any REAL journalist or ethical news analyst/anchor would have demanded an extended interview OR a controlled Town Hall with guardrails that would have both provided a more unbiased audience and prevented the devolution into a noxious rally.

I have ZERO respect for her, despite her desperate attempt to question him in the last half--after seeing how much of a disaster this had become--for HER. Is she STILL getting the 9 PM CNN show as a reward for this effort? Good gawd. Those who defend Chis Licht and his apparent attempts to turn CNN into Fox-Lite, are you still convinced otherwise? If so, I find that inexplicable and denial of the first order.

except for Nicolle Wallace and a very rare Laurence O'Donnell or Mehdi Hasan.

I said I was going to watch last night to critique CNN's new management. My critique did not involve what Kaitlan did in her past life, it would not be relevant to a jury. First of all she did ask him numerous tough questions, they weren't softball questions. 2nd, she tried to rebut his lies numerous times but Trump simply talked over her.

I could not watch the entire shit show but my main point of disgust was the audience. I knew it would be comprised of Magats, but c'mon man, laughing at Trump's attacks on E. Jean Carroll, and their laughing at what went on at the J6 insurrection. I expected Trump to be Trump I should have expected the reaction from the Magat audience because I live among them.

Kaitlin Collins tried her best to fact check Trump live, the blame is on CNN management for giving Trump this platform to spew his lies and hatred. Kaitlin Collins is just a worker who tried to do her job.

Disclaimer: this is not an endorsement of Kaitlin in general, it is only a critique of her performance last night.

It's the only way that she would ever get him to behave. Mute him when he doesn't answer the question. Mute him when he talks over you.

But then Trump would have had a public fit and may have walked out.
