Before the microphones in the past three weeks his face has indicated blood pressure problems. I have that situation, but I’m not trying to destroy the country because ignorant people insist I do what they tell me to do. But. By God. He is the head motherfucker in charge of the whole House of Representatives. That’s kevs participation trophy. To our demise.

The blood pressure problem with him is that his balls are being squeezed by trump, madge and the rest of the maggots. He sold his weak and rotten soul to become the speaker.

...as Speaker, However, my guess is that it was then much easier for Biden to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. After all, it was reported that it only takes a single vote from the crazies to oust him. Realistically, it's likely he's already done as Speaker.

What a Repug politician says about just about anything is never connected to reality anyway. It wouldn't change anything about the reality of the bill if he said he won, or he lost, or he tied.

I was just thinking exactly the same thing. The default would be so catastrophic that I really don't care who tries to take credit as long as it's avoided.

But even worse the poor and disenfranchised are getting screwed.

According to a person familiar with the agreement, the deal also would impose new work requirements for some recipients of government aid, including food stamps and the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. It would put new limits on the amount of time that certain recipients of food stamps -- people under the age of 54, who do not have children -- could benefit from the program

There are a lot of things the Un-freedom caucus didn’t get. I would have not negotiated and invoked the 14th Amendment. But whatever, seniors and others could not go without payments.
