When Did the 'F*ck Your Feelings' Crowd Get So Triggered?

Being a conservative these days sounds emotionally exhausting.

At any given moment, you might find out, for instance, that your favorite light beer sent a brew to a transgendered influencer and get so mad about it you have to film yourself using that beer for target practice. Or you might discover—gasp!—that Target is selling T-shirts with little rainbows on them for Pride Month and simply have no choice but drive to the nearest Target, threaten employees with violence, write a song about it, and whine that the song is being censored. Perhaps your precious children are being exposed to a poem about unity, or a movie about a mythical creature that isn't white, so you do whatever it takes to shield them from these horrors. Maybe you heard someone say their pronouns and subsequently fainted in the middle of a PTA meeting.

That’s just how it goes in the United States of Wokemerica. Another day, another space that is not safe.

Lately, it seems that many of the same MAGA Republicans who once wore “Fuck Your Feelings” T-shirts to Trump rallies now exist in a perpetual state of emotional outpouring. Everywhere conservatives have looked over the past few years, they’ve glimpsed something they didn’t like, had an apoplectic outburst or two, and then tried to legally ban it—sometimes with success. Incredibly, the very people who seem to find it tragic that “you couldn’t make Animal House today” are busy ensuring that no local theater company can perform Shakespeare in Tennessee the way actors did in Elizabethan England, because it would require the male cast to be in drag, and children might see them.

Whatever happened to “melting the snowflakes”? When did being “triggered” go from the most shameful and hilarious thing that could happen to a person, in the eyes of Sean Hannity stans, to conservatives’ default mode of existence?

https://www.thedailybeast.com/when-did-the-fck-your-feelings-maga-crowd-get-so-triggered

Who are the REAL snowflakes? I ask you.

It was basically a daily dose of all the problems you created for yourself are actually the liberals fault. Modern conservatism is appealing to people that basically need a soft target to hate and blame for their own problems.

Daily. There is a source, or they wouldn't all be on the same page and it wouldn't multiply and travel so quickly.

We need a WAR ROOM to counter this. Daily. Someone should inform the Democratic Party. They fight too much with money and not enough with raw ideology and ideas.

It's hate and harassment bordering on terrorism and it needs to stop. The hate and violence coming from the right wing is so far out of control it's insane. I truly fear what they would be capable of if Fuckhead 45 or DeSatan could manage to slime their way into the White House.

Some random trans person they'll never meet participating in sports becomes a huge deal to them. Someone at work using a pronoun cuases them to say things like, 'So just because you want, I havew to change my whole life to accommodate you." Huh? referring to someone by their preferred pronoun is changing your whole life.

It's all about control, they want control over other people. Over minorities, over immigrants, and above all over other people's children.

The whole "Facts don't care about your feelings" BS was always projection, like most everything the right wing does. Certainly there are angry progressives and leftists out there. We are mad about the continued marginalization or women, minorities, LGBTQ people, etc...

Right wingers are angry because their hegemony is being challenged. That's it. They are mad because their worldview is not as advantaged as it once was. When you have been the dominant group for so long, it feels like "oppression" when people say that "other experiences need to be honored as well".

The term "snowflake" was a progressive idea that each person is unique in their own way because of the idea that "no two snowflakes are alike". Right wingers turned it into an insult meaning weak and falsely entitled. Yet another example of how Conservatives take words that have actual meaning, and turn it into something else for their own purposes.

From the moment the Orange One was elected, they willfully misinterpreted our dismay. They did their best to paint us as poor losers rather than as people who were desperately worried about what was going to become of this country with that sociopathic malignant narcissist in the White House. It was vile because they were vile, and they still are. We mustn't allow him and them to ever seize power again, no matter what! Screw you, Donald Trump, and screw all your mewling minions! Leave this country the fuck ALONE!

Elephant (so to speak) in the room.

Over 90% of wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few, and THEY HOARD IT.

If they contributed a smidgeon more, working people would be vastly better off.

Need I mention universal health care?

The list goes on and on.

Also I remember Phyllis Schlafley screaming about the Equal Rights Amendment. She was against the Amendment and she didn't want "women's rights" to be a thing. George Wallace even in the 1950's was against anything that smacked of civil rights, or any improvements for the black and brown Americans. Somehow these old-time conservatives found ways to twist their issue into an insult to their religion, and that's how people in the Bible Belt got triggered.

Wallace made it known that he voted for Repukes in some presidential elections. (For example he voted for Bob Dole, and probably others.) His son George Wallace Jr. is also in politics, and he has never run as a Democrat, always as a Repuke.

George Wallace supported Republicans later in life.

Black people were disenfranchised when Wallace started his political career. The Democratic (Dixiecrat) party was the only party in Alabama back then so the Dem primary was tantamount to election.

They are. Period ,
I am a straight , white male , living in Florida. I’ve done nothing wrong in their eyes.
Except 11 years ago I adopted Lil, Mrs K died and the campground we were in threw us out(. ( your daughter, can’t hear you sing on karaoke night)’ so we moved our camper. To a nice campground, trees, small ,quiet. No internet or cable, I buy all that now. Notice comes, “ due to rising costs, rental is going up 50 bucks a month” for what? I just give out my money to THEM as I , clean , feed , care for LilBit. I’m on. Rant, Florida Medicaid has not given 1 second of help for her.

Oh I served in the 80s I won’t go to vets day or anything that “ they “ feel strongly about those days, I was there , I did.

Sorry for this on your post, guess I got triggered.
