Authorities: Body spent five days in theater restroom

DENVER. (AP) — Family members are waiting for answers about how a 66-year-old Colorado man's body went unnoticed in a locked movie theater restroom for about five days after he died there.

George DeGrazio, of Loveland, died of a heart attack on about Jan. 9, Larimer County Deputy Coroner James MacNaughton said Tuesday.

"It appears he was using the restroom facility and then fell over and died on the floor," MacNaughton said.

The body was found Jan. 14 after theater workers noticed an odor in the restroom and forced their way in, authorities said.

The strain does a lot of folks in that way.

When did the outraged family notice him missing?

If you ever need to get away by yourself for a few days and be left alone, this sounds like the place.

stated he was last seen on 9 Jan and was reported missing on 10 Jan. His car was found outside the theater.

Thank goodness for you folks who actually read the articles.

Without you, I'd never know what's going on.

long dump? I guess cleaning the bathroom daily was not part of their SOPs.

Then you might think, "Oh, okay, there is someone in there" and assume that whomever is cleaning next will get that stall.

Even if you came back later and there was someone in there, you wouldn't necessarily assume that it was the same person who was in there last time.

My guess would be that when cleaning the bathroom, they don't kick people out of the stalls.

So, you wouldn't know if it was the same person the whole time.

Apparently closing the theater at the end of the day doesn't include checking the restrooms to make sure everyone is out.

Somehow seems to me you have to be alive to spend any time anywhere. How can it be said that you are, for example, passing the time anywhere when the concept of time in that sense seems to be exclusively related to 1) being alive and experiencing time and 2) the fact that life is finite, so time matters.

I would have said maybe -

Body lay for five days in theater restroom.
Body remained for five days in theater restroom.
Body remained unnoticed for five days in theater restroom.

Something like that?

Maybe it sounds slightly creepier, slightly more sensational to talk about a corpse spending time doing anything.
