Quick update: Our campaign for the U.S. Senate is going strong. We've had a great first few months up here in Massachusetts. We're building a strong grassroots campaign all across the Commonwealth that can go toe-to-toe with Scott Brown, Karl Rove, and all the Wall Street bankers already spending millions of dollars trying to defeat me.
But we still have a lot of work to do, and tens of thousands of middle-class families in Massachusetts are counting on us. That's why I'm asking for your help today.
This Thursday, January 19th, we're organizing a "money bomb" for my campaign. The idea of everyone coming together to raise as much money possible and send a powerful signal all in one day is new for me, having never run for office before, but I know it can make a big difference.
Why Thursday? Because it's the two-year anniversary of the special election that sent Scott Brown to Washington and the U.S. Senate. He plans to use the date to celebrate and officially announce for re-election. I want to use that date to make clear the grassroots strength of our campaign -- and to raise as much money as possible from grassroots supporters.
Since we launched this idea on Friday, grassroots supporters just like you already have pledged to contribute more than $250,000 on January 19th -- and we're just getting started.
Can you today pledge a contribution of $5 or more to Thursday's "money bomb"?
