I couldn't say "Canadian oil" or "pumping oil from Canada to Texas"... would give away the punchline.

I can't find the link tonight, but last week there were numerous articles about foreign companies buying the oil in Easter Ohio and other locations currently tracking.

If all US produced natural gas was sold in the US the domestic price of natural gas would go way down.

And since we have not nationalized energy that makes perfect sense.

Speaking for myself, I would nationalize energy.

flushed down the drain. I'd like to see dem leaders, maybe even Obama, get up there and talk about three things: 1) the economic, social, and environmental downsides to the project 2) the gop trigger that established the requirement to make a decision on the project before all the legwork could be done, and 3) the fact that this oil would not reduce dependence on foreign oil and would be sold on the world market.

Why can't the messaging on this, like nearly every other issue, be better?

There is a difference between sarcasm and satire.

The OP is not sarcastic. It is a parody of RW talking points. And saying "this is satire" undoes the power of satire, which involves tension when it is most effective.

IMO.

No problem.
