Honestly, i was hoping they would all stay until the end. I already miss Bachmann and Cain. The volume of fun being produced by the GOP is down substantially since November. Perry has now realized (two months after everyone else) that he can't win. We'll miss you, Gov GoodHair, and your coyote shooting, fantasy based campaign style.
Some of my favorite moments:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/rick-perry-flubs-supreme-court-justice-sonia-sotomayor-missates-number-justices-article-1.989666?localLinksEnabled=false - in which Rick Perry forgets how many Supreme Court Justices there are.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/post/rick-perry-gets-us-voting-age-wrong-in-new-hampshire/2011/11/29/gIQAlMOM9N_blog.html - in which Rick Perry forgets what the voting age is, and when the election for the job he's trying to get is.
&feature=fvsr - In which Rick Perry drinks a shitton of booze, drugs or both then gives a speech about...something.
Or the time Rick Perry compared being homosexual to being an alcoholic - "Even if an alcoholic is powerless over alcohol once it enters his body, he still makes a choice to drink, he wrote. And, even if someone is attracted to a person of the same sex, he or she still makes a choice to engage in sexual activity with someone of the same gender."
Who could forget Rick Perry comparing the BP Oil Spill to an act of God, because, you know, god made the ocean then thought it would be cool to fill it full of oil? -"From time to time there are going to be things that occur that are acts of God that cannot be prevented."
Or one of the (many) times that the guy running for president suggested that the state he's governor of should succeed from the United States - "Theres a lot of different scenarios. Weve got a great union. Theres absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and were a pretty independent lot to boot."
It's been fun Rick, really, it has. Sorry to see you go.
I'll leave you all with this fun little clip, in which Rick seems to imply that Woodrow Wilson was president at some point during the 90s.
