1. I don't understand the daughters' defense of Newt.

They'll change their tune if in a few years they find their hubbies in the marriage bed with another woman, and then he asks for an open marriage. There can be no defense of that. It's heartless, cruel.

The daughters belong to the first wife, so maybe there's some bad feelings there toward wife #2, the one with MS who Newt wanted to have an open marriage with. But wife #2 said that she and Newt started seeing each other AFTER divorce action was filed with wife #1, so she had nothing to do with that breakup. So she said.

Callista, wife #3 I guess she is, should be safe. Newt has gotten so dumpy and unattractive that I can't imagine anyone more attractive or younger than Callista having anything to do with him. Not that Newt was ever undumpy or attractive; he's just less attractive and dumpier now.

the "sufficiently answered" really means "we got what we wanted" out of the debate question. Newt's righteous indignation toward John King did exactly what it was supposed to do, fire up the crowd and allow Newt to be seen as the victim of a vindictive ex. The crowd loved it especially when he used that as his lead in to the usual "liberal elite media" meme that everyone on the right just loves to fall back on when they don't have anything better to say.
