Governor Says He Will Close School May 1 If Cuts Aren't Met (Maine - LePage)

A big announcement from the Governor Thursday night: if he doesn't get the cuts to the the Department of Health and Human Services budget that he's proposing he says he will close schools in May.

Governor LePage spoke during his Capitol For A Day town hall meeting in Lewiston.

Those in attendance asked questions ranging from education to jobs and health care. It was health care that seemed to divide the crowd the most.

The Governor says there is a $221 million deficit in the DHHS budget and cuts, including to MaineCare need to be made to fill the gap.

we do not have a recall process in Maine, we'd have to go for impeachment.

unless it's another three way race. As for taking away voting rights, the republicans up here tried that by taking away same day voter registration, and the voters smacked that one down.
