A thought about infidelity.

In order to cheat on your spouse or SO, you have to lie, prevaricate and plot. You do this at the expense of the one person in the world who trusts you to most. To cheat for years takes some real effort and probably results in a habit of lying, prevaicating and plotting. I don't want anyone who has perfected that way of life, that habit, anywhere near the Presidency.

Serial infidelity is just yet another reason to hate Newt, but be careful with that brush.

Marianne had the choice of either accepting or rejecting open marriage, and the divorce was the consequence of the rejection. That's more open and honest than secretly continuing an affair and denying it continuously to a spouse, we surely know many politicians from all sides of the political spectrum who have done that.

In any case, the fact that we even discuss it makes us seem like the moralizing nannies that we despise on the right wing. There are a thousand reasons to not want Newt Gingrich's finger on the button, and most of them have zero to do with his sexual history.
