UC Davis Protesters Won’t Face Charges

http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2012/01/20/uc-davis-protesters-wont-face-charges/

WOODLAND (CBS13) – Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig announced Friday that no charges would be filed against UC Davis protesters who were pepper-sprayed by police in an incident that made national news.

Reisig said there was insufficient information in reports submitted by the UC Davis Police Department to justify the filing of criminal charges against the protesters. Several sat on the quad with their arms locked and refused to move for police during a confrontation Nov. 18 at an “Occupy UC Davis” protest.

The district attorney’s investigation into the police pepper spraying of the protesters is ongoing.

I clicked and did a quick scan and that's how the title of the OP and the first paragraph conflated in my mind.

I'll go click the article now.

"Mugger won't be charged for being mugged"

"Rape victim won't be charged for being raped"

"Hospitalized victim of police beating won't be charged for being beaten and hospitalized"

Ok...off to click and read.

eta Update: oh, ffs, it appears that was really all they protesters were guilty of: they sat and locked arms and were pepper-sprayed for sitting and locking arms. Oh yeah, and they 'refused to move.' In the meantime my brother robs my late mother blind and the DA refuses to prosecute because "the money's gone."
