Santorum Law License Suspended

Seriously - he didn't pay his $70 annual dues in 2010 - and his law license is suspended. The dues here in Texas are about $250 so he only had to pay some change. He cares that little about his law career? I guess he thought he was going to be prez, so no need to pay the $70. What if Obama let his law license lapse??

"WASHINGTON -- On Thursday night, Rick Santorum told a debate audience that he does his own taxes. He's not as diligent when it comes to bar dues: The former senator's license to practice law is under "administrative suspension," according to the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

"Such a suspension would typically come about not for serious malfeasance but for failing to pay an annual $70 fee required to stay current.

"Santorum's suspension was for non-payment of a fee that would have allowed him to stay inactive, his campaign told HuffPost. He's been inactive since 1994 and was finally suspended on April 2, 2010, board records show. The fee itself was nominal."

Barack Obama 'voluntarily retired' his law license

Michelle Obama requested her law license be put into 'inactive status'

Fact Check here: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/lawlicenses.asp

p.s. When attorneys are not 'practicing' it is common for them to let their licenses go inactive - it saves them lots of monetary fees etc.

The fee to keep the license on "inactive" status was the fee that cost $70 and he blew that off - so instead of an inactive license it is now suspended.
