(15,438 posts)so instead, they're upping the ante against Obama. Go to HuffPo and you'll see many pro-Gingrich headliners and many anti-Obama headliners.
With Newt, corporate media always takes a glass is half full stance. With President Obama, they take a glass is half empty stance.
Always.

(62,683 posts)they KNEW they would have to address it since it was all over the news that day, so give Newt an opportunity to take the righteous indignation road?
Ever hear of "a shot across the bow?" This is the sort of crap bullies use to maintain control. The nutless wimps in the "lamestream" media are now forewarned that the Angry Attack Muffin will not tolerate them asking questions about what a jerk he has been.

(17,009 posts)This is definitely one of the many times when the corporate media shows its true colors. Even tweety was opining yesterday about how no one cares about anyone's personal life, and basically taking newty's side. Not one word about the hypocrisy, or, heaven forbid, a defense of his fellow journalists.

(27,787 posts)Obama should beat any of these clowns by a landslide, but that would suck for the pundits because they'd have nothing to talk about and no one would be listening to them.
So all they really do is stir the pot.

Dunno about John King

(135,828 posts)He felt like he was used a bit to play to the audience and he wouldn't come out and say that there was no racist intent but he wouldn't confirm it either.
He basically said that it was business as usual and he didn't expect anything else.
It was a few days ago so that is a general remembrance.

(9,796 posts)Well, partly anyway.
What you've got is a mixture of the easily cowed (terrified of losing access or being seen as "unserious" and those that support either Gingrich personally or the GOP generally (either because of personal preference or because the giant corporation that owns them supports the GOP).
But really, this is just an extension of what Palin started: Describe any awkward question as a "gotcha", refuse to answer it and attack the questioner (silly me, I always thought asking awkward questions was the media's job). Obviously, only works for Republicans but the American national media is so heavily tilted to the right that public figures can get away with just plain ignoring questions and shouting at the questioner.
