Voting this year only began this Saturday... right at the time Newt has his maximum momentum coming out of SC. Keep in mind that traditionally about 1/3 of voters will vote early in Florida.
Voters in all 67 Florida counties will be able to go to the polls Saturday and casts ballots... http://www.gainesville.com/article/20120120/WIRE/120129971/1034?Title=Early-voting-in-GOP-primary-to-begin-across-Fla-&tc=ar

(27,556 posts)their point was that Romney would have the advantage in FL, because early voting was going on before SC.
That's just not the case this year as the Florida Legislature truncated the early voting.
In fact, it will be at the time of maximum Newtmentum.

(62,269 posts)It's definitely going to screw up Romney's chances big time. Same day as SC primary? Seriously epic!
It's going to be crazy if Newt goes into the convention with 2/3rds of the delegates and Romney has 1/3rd.
You may consider cross posting to Politics 2012 because this will likely sink by morning.

(12,233 posts)problems getting to the polling place. I'm not sure when the ballots were sent out, but that would be interesting to see what happens with the mail in folks... The tend to hold onto them for a little bit to really make a decision.
I finally signed up for the mail in ballot option so that I can GOTV without having to worry about getting myself or my hubby to the voting machine.. Which is an opti-scan that during the last primary would only accept the results if you fed it a certain way; which is not supposed to happen.... Its supposed to scan any way in which you insert the ballot.... Oh and only one opti-scanner at the church- precinct.
Hopefully, they send me my ballot. This last election in Democratic strongholds, mail-in-ballot people were not receiving their ballots. Too many were still waiting on it to come in the mail.. and didn't realize that they couldn't just fill it out any old time.. that if it was election day, and they didn't have their ballot in the mail yet, then they needed to go to the precinct to vote.
AND then the spiel was, oh we don't know what happened with the mail in ballots or why people didn't get them this time around? And the margin in which Rick Scott won the election was very small. Way too fishy to be a coincidence that Democratic strongholds had mis-placed mail in ballots "lost in the mail". Yeah, right!
