Mitt will release his 2010 tax return and an estimate for 2011 on Tuesday

Just announced on FauxNewsSunday... anyone?

Pretty tough line of questioning by Chris Wallace, by the way. He asked Mitt why he waited so long, why not release more, if there are many surprises (which Mitt did not deny), and whether his 10% (read: millions) to the LDS Church would concern some people.

This will keep the focus on his wealth & business practices for some time, as the Gingrich Swiftboaters dig into the filth. It's been pointed out before, but pig-stupid Republicans whose unthinking prejudices would never let them hear the truth from a representative of our side will start to "get it" when one of THEIR people delivers the unseemly facts.

The true beauty of this is that Newt isn't just attacking Romney; he's attacking the foundations of the Corporate State, and of Republicanism, bringing small glimmerings of light to the endarkened.

for decades, the other wings of the GOP have been systematically courted for votes and then systematically shoved aside and forced to go along with the corporatist agenda, while getting lip service regarding their demands, from their "leaders".

Will this be the year that they finally rebel and break free? It seems it might and the corporatists will find their creation (and nurturing) of the astroturf teabaggers was the biggest mistake that they could have made because the monster is now out on its own (but then again, maybe they felt that was the only other way to hold their shaky alliance together and keep those other factions in line and under their control).

I kinda doubt it's going to happen that way.

First, he may well not survive the Primaries because of this new focus on his wealth and vulture business tactics, and second, the whole 1%-er issue is now out of the bottle, and ain't going back. Once they have seen a bit of the truth, desperate people are a lot more likely to be responsive to discussions of social equity and making the rich carry some of the burden than by deficit-based fearmongering.

And furthermore, if he releases only one year, it will be about as effective as Nixon's "limited, partial hangout." Newt & eventually Obama can nag him until November about what he's hiding.

5% of 250 million is about a million a month income. Probably has trouble spending all that and may as well give it to the Mormons so they can continue baptizing all the dead people.

And would add that neither of those is a good option either.

You'd think politicians would eventually learn about the unwisdom of dribbling out small bits of damaging information rather than just dumping the whole thing. But in this case I bet there are some unsavory things in past years that he wants to keep in the closet--maybe things that his advisers think are potentially more damaging than just doing nothing.

Holdings will have probably been snuck into kid's names and wife's name and whatever else they could clean up... Its the years before he was continuously running for Presidency that should be assessed. The Bain Capital years and those after should be very telling as to how the super rich are legally allowed to operate because Congress builds the laws around the wealthy who pay them... And isn't it convenient that most people who do go to congress eventually make it into the wealthy millionaire club. And that their perks after the position of holding office are lucrative lobbying and hedge fund positions that net them even more loot.

They are bought. There are only a handful worth a grain of salt. They really only create laws that benefit the wealthy (themselves), and do very, very little for the actual people who actually make America run.

I wish people would get more angry at the right types of outrage. The tea party, neanderthals have a ton of rage, they've been lied to and place their rage at the wrong people... It isn't gays or blacks or Mexican's that has made their lives shit, its the Republican party that has bamboozled them, and its ingrained in their lives for generations. They can't even see past their blind rage to direct the rage where its really needed...

Could you imagine, Tea Party rage utilized smartly by liberally-minded souls.. We would have an amazing world to live within. AND you know, we have more than a few Democratic Reps that need to be tossed out for being just as blood-sucking as the Republicans. Clean house, clean elections, and we might have a better chance

BREAKING NEWS: Mitt Romney says he'll only release his 2010 and 2011 tax records.

President Obama has released his tax returns going back to the year 2000. In fact, Mitt’s own father, George Romney, started the tradition of Presidential candidates releasing their tax returns in 1968, releasing 12 years of returns.

Something doesn’t add up. Americans deserve to know whether Romney is taking advantage of the tax system.
