Finally something we agree on. String him up? Really?
The base is revolting
Absolutely! When a conservative audience boos gay soldiers, cheers for letting uninsured people die, cheers Newt Gingrichs blatant race-baiting, boos Juan Williams, and shouts string him up when Gingrich mentions Obama in his SC victory speech, the base is revolting is right on the mark.

Reminds me of this bit from last September's SNL: "Good evening, I'm Shepard Smith, and I'd like to begin by apologizing for responses by the audience at the previous three debates who booed a soldier, cheered executions and applauded the death of an uninsured man."

The "left" of the TeaPubliKlan party are neocons and corporatists. Revolting is their jumping off point and one need not wade very deeply before you are over the head deep in Bircher and/or theocrat territory and it gets worse from there.

The more anti-Obama extremists they attract, the more pro-Obama moderate, undecided, and swing voters they create.

(7,321 posts)don't know why... that kind of comment DEFINES the South.
As a born and raised "southener" I'm allowed to say this, but I continue to be appalled. I left the south at the age of 20, 42 years ago. I dis-owned it then for this reason. In recent decades I wanted to believe what I had been hearing... "things have dramatically changed" since I left ..
But when Obama was elected, every single one of my Southern relations posted vile racists bile on their fb pages, bar none.. Needless to say we have "unfriended" each other.
For better or worse, Obama's election did prove one thing if nothing else, the recent meme that "race issues" are behind us as a country is utter nonsense. Obama cannot defend himself against these miserable pathetic asshats, but the Corporate Media, can and should give intense scrutiney on thse people that support these that call themselves Presidential candidates representing the Greedy Old Pigs.
I recall the media commentaries responding to the Memorial services of Corretta Scott King, it was a mixed bag of general lameness to racist remarks.. but the rediculous meme that stood out to me was the notion that the bad old days of Jim Crow are forever behind us.
I don't have cable or satellite so I don't see or hear what the Corporate Media Whores give their attention to, but other than the horserace aspect of the primaries and a few titillating pieces of gossip, I'd wager that no news anchor or host (other than probably Maddow et al) has made a point of reporting on this.
