These changes can occur more drastically in relative short period, more so in others. Some people are inherently good and some are inherently evil. We simply have caution and are aware of this truth. In my travels through life I have come across people that would surely kill you without remorse. To not fear and be cautious (avoid at all costs) those people is a lie or you are a fool.
