On one hand, he had a remarkable career as a college football coach. Helped lots of people in that capacity.

And yet, as we learned recently, a member of his staff appears to have done some incredibly horrible things.

And the unanswered question (which may never be fully answered now) is what did Paterno know, and should he have done more based on what he knew.

Now that he has died, apparently, the whack jobs from Westboro plan to try and use his funeral and the large controversy for their own insane purposes. Which does nothing to help uncover the truth.

I had no clue who the heck Joe Paterno was before this scandal broke out. However, after it broke out I began to read and observe, and the reactions of certain people were completely off the frikkin' charts, which led me to wonder about those reactions.

We deal with the kids of this kind of thing and see what it actually does to them. One of my last juries before I retired I had to recuse myself because the victim was in my class and she was molested by a preacher.

Believe me when I tell you, Paterno is culpable for not doing the reporting right. He has known since 1996 or so that sandusky liked sex with little kids. He's a bigger weasal than Sandusky who is sick in the head because he reasoned that it might hurt his myth and his money and therefore he did nothing.

I'm not a fan of football either. Not since LA lost the Rams.

And they mostly aren't off the charts. Some of us really know what he was supposed to do and that he chose to fail to protect himself and not the kids. This stuff is what we do.
