This fiscal cliff issue and the entire budget comes down to one basic issue

Do we provide health care to people who have health issues and cannot afford the care they need or do we not.

One political party believes in doing this and is willing to be realistic about generating tax revenue in order to accomplish this. The other political party does not believe in providing health care to people who are sick and is indifferent to the consequences of this. They have been negotiating for many hours to try and resolve their differences but this is the main conflict between the 2 parties and you can't reconcile something like that.

There is one basic lie, and most people line up according to conflicting ideologies that equally reinforce that lie.

That is their line in the sand.

But they are willing to make *everyone* pay a higher tax rate.
