It's a beautiful night out down here in washington, a great new year so far.

3. Not too bad here either.

41 degrees, which is balmy for us. I know it won't last, but these past four or five days of warm weather have been greatly appreciated. It was really cold up here in November and December before Christmas.

4. Gosh, it's down to 28 here...

and a thick fog starting to roll in just as I came back inside. There's a res behind us and up the hill a ways and I think they must have emptied out there entire stock of fireworks tonight...it was quite the show, lit up the whole mountain for hours. Heard the last boom about ten minutes ago, so I hope they're done.

I know you all had bitter cold up there for so long this winter...I don't mind the cold, it's the heat I can't take, tho it's been some time since I had to survive in really low temps (knocking on wood).
