2. My ex nearly died from hyperthyriodism

which finally manifested itself as a huge goiter. Only THEN was our doctor able to diagnose it, with a HUGE apology to me. (He had originally diagnosed it as "closet alcoholism" !)
Today he is "cured" though he must take a ot of drugs to remain "normal".

Unfortunately the Pakistanis probably don't have much more than religious or folk information available to them.
