The network?
The Republican Party establishment?
Gingrich's campaign advisor complained about it on Ed's show, saying it prevented Newt from connecting with the audience.
This is the first debate in which the audience reactions did not embarrass the Party and show their supporters for the true asshats they are. Somebody had enough and ordered it to end.
Anybody? Speculative and humorous guesses welcomed.

He didn't want to risk Newt humiliating him, the way he did John King and Juan Williams.
