Luke Russert's words of wisdom as the gravitas of MSNBC.....

Last edited Wed Jan 2, 2013, 01:16 AM - Edit history (1)

He just related a great story about a republican congressman (didn't get his name) who was "ribbing" the Democrats just now during his speech.

It seems this republican congressman is ribbing the Dems because the bush taxcuts are going to be ending and the Dems know that the cuts were good for "98% of the people."

That's it. Luke seemed very impressed with the republican's words and related them as though they were the gospel.

Thanks, MSNBC, for providing us with your best and brightest to analyze this important news story.

If it's the one I heard. Didn't catch who, but he thanked Dems for acknowledging that 98% of the Bush tax cuts benefitted the middle class.

The "critter" that stated that was Gomer Pyle from Texas.

Of course what he misses is that PRIOR to the Bush tax cuts, the economy was boiling even after Clinton's tax increases.

So, in reality, the economy was doing well when taxes, even on the 98% were higher, before GWB screwed the economy.

GWB started two wars, regardless of their legitimacy, without asking for any sacrifice. GWB passed an RX addition to Medicare (long overdue in my view) without paying for it and giving away billions to the Rx industry. He ramped up the military to prosecute his wars. He denied Americans the protections under the Constitution. All of this was done without a single penny of payment.

So no, Gomer, we don't agree that the Bush tax cuts helped the economy. What we do recognize is that given GWB's fuck-over of the economy thanks to his banker buddies, restoring pre-Bush tax rates to 98% of Americans would result in economic disaster.

That is because wages and net worth of the 98% have collapsed in the Bush/post-Bush era. Not because of any intrinsic value.

Gomer, please go home and fade away in the night. You are a sad excuse for a human being. My dogs are more intelligent than you.

Seriously, you should send it to Luke. He really doesn't know that bush and republican policies almost wrecked this economy. Unbelievable.

take on such a young, inexperienced kid as a valid "journalist" or "broadcaster." It's insulting to the viewers.

It reminds me of what an older man told me years ago about the new preacher at his new church. The older man had been going to church and reading the Bible for 50 years, yet the arrogant attitude of the new young preacher was such that he would tell the church members what passages of the Bible meant, even when the older ones disagreed. He professed to know better than those with many more years of knowledge and education on the subject. The older man was offended.

I feel like that when watching this kid. Like he's gonna profess to tell ME what HE thinks the current proposal means?
