We are so conditioned to expect to be betrayed by our government, that we don't even recognize when our government is finally representing us.
Remember 10 years ago when the military was sacred? I think that's over, now. Because there's nothing else we can cut, now.

This is a long way for the GOP to fall, from being infallible, un-questionable, to a sobbing, impotent Boner.

And I doubt big business will be funding these GOP clown-car rejects next time around. rMoney lost, Boner's immasculated, the middle class re-established as the point of this country.

Too bad we had to trash the world economy to learn this lesson: Government of the people, for the people, by the people.

Our government worked for us this week, and hopefully, has put us on a new road of long-term, thoughtful self-government.

I knew when I was protesting the iraq occupation, that we were on a long hard learning curve. Actually, I'm surprised we've woken up this much in 10 short years. It's a relief, and it gives me faith in my country again.

1. They are going to destroy Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid in 2013.

It's coming. I agree with you about 2002 - we marched, protested and it didn't make a whiff of difference, we still went to war and my tax dollars helped pay for it despite my opposition.

They are going to screw us over like never before in 2013, and we can only pray that the president holds the line.

2. A broken minority of the GOP wants to try, but I doubt they'll get the votes for it.

This whole picture proves the GOP is a broken mess, incapable of any governing.
