There's a pretty nasty spam featuring free Southwest Airline tickets.
Ignore it...because if you click on it it will capture your friends list and send it out to them.

(5,946 posts)I also use a false name and information - like age birth date and town and fictional high school, etc. My friends expect and accept my eccentricities. Heck, I even put fake names as the owner/users of my computer. I am sure there are always more things to do like never buy anything on line. I do buy things from stores like Itunes cards and put in a false name for that.....

(18,402 posts)That's my rule of thumb. On any site I'm visiting, not just Facebook (where I never even notice ads because I've trained my eye not to go there).
On the rare occasion I do see an ad for something that interests me, I never click on the ad link. I'll open a new window and just go to the airline or store's site itself.
