The mother of one of the rethugs came up and he said "Hi Mom!" Gave her a hug and then said "I'm Joe Biden". He just hugged her again after the family picture.

They were supposed to have been done at noon (maybe done en masse?).

Biden is the President of the Senate as VP.

As I was watching and listening to his kind and thoughtful words as he greeted the families, I had to think that if it wasn't for this man and the work he did a few hours ago, my small but important 401 k would have been dust yesterday morning. The money we put into SS all of our lives and a few pension sheckles are all many of us retirees have. Thank God for people like Joe who understand this.

In the Senate Chamber. Shortly after the were called to order by Biden and then a prayer and then Leahy hit the chair.

They came up in groups of four or five.

Saw "AMTRAK Baggage Handler #1" (movie reference) And he wasn't nominated for an Oscar? Sacre bleu!!!
