It's not fair to always say Boehner is drunk

Last edited Thu Jan 3, 2013, 09:15 PM - Edit history (1)

Long term alcoholics like Boehner and George W. Bush suffer progressive brain damage from alcoholism that leaves them sounding drunk even when they are not.

And their brain is so damaged from years of poisoning that they are never really "right"—simple fatigue will often mimic extreme drunkenness.

Boehner's office should explain this to people... in just these terms.

For anyone who took this seriously (as some relies suggest might be the case)... it's funny because the explanation is so much worse than what is being explained away. And it is edgy funny because it's probably true, which is scary. A lot of times when people thought W was drinking I disagreed, believing him to be what used to be called a wet-head... someone perpetually punch drunk from a life of booze and drugs.[\div]

That doesn't sound like Boehner currently fits the definition of sober.

Not sure how good the source was for the story. Maybe someone else knows more about the quality of the source?

It may not be true, and given physical attributes of alcoholics, assuming he is one, he probably usually has a higher blood/alcohol level than others have, due to 'maintenance drinking,' and only actually APPEARS under the influence occasionally.

Bush claimed to be sober but photos with bottles of beer and glasses of wine in front of him would indicate otherwise. Also, those shameful pictures of him at the Olympics really under the weather from something being carried by the SS also would indicate otherwise.

Also, there are times when both men were seemingly sober and could actually speak in complete sentences, make sense and not grimace or cry.

As an ex bartender who has witnessed people not at their best, I can tell the difference.

Like the pretzel incident in 2002

The cover story: he was watching the a playoff game alone and fainted.

ALONE? There was NOBODY who wanted to watch a PLAYOFF GAME with the PRESIDENT?

Although the alternate story - that he was told he he was just going to be a spokesman, objected, and was roughed up a bit - is also possible.

High leadership Gov. positions should require no drinking, no drugs and random tests.

If they can't give it up for their years of service, they shouldn't be in politics. Look how his drinking, crying or whatever problems he has affects him now. He is not dependable can't even work out the budget or debt issues in a timely manner.

If America had a real emergency and our lives depended on Boehner, we would be so fucked.

Yes, he likes his wine...so do I. But he has an impossible job trying to deal with the insane quasdi pubs that weere elected in 2010. Thank God many of the worst werwe tossed out this year. I didn't know about the Hastert rue until today, and even though it was a self iposed ruloe that he could have easily ignored, he kept with it, until this last vote. I gotta say, if I had his job, I'm afraid I'd be drinking all the time too!
