Mr. Gingrich, a former House speaker, on Tuesday morning threatened not participate in any future debates with audiences that have been instructed to be silent. That was the case on Monday, when Brian Williams of NBC News asked the audience of about 500 people who assembled for a debate in Tampa to hold their applause until the commercial breaks.
In an interview with the morning show Fox and Friends, Mr. Gingrich said NBCs rules amounted to stifling free speech. In what has become a standard line of attack for his anti-establishment campaign, Mr. Gingrich blamed the media for trying to silence a dissenting point of view.

What do you expect from someone whose natural habitat is the gutter? He wants audiences to be able to jeer American soldiers if they don't tote the party line, yell "LET HIM DIE" about people without health coverage, and make other loud sentiments that would embarrass any civilized candidate.

(23,756 posts)then if he becomes the nominee I would think that he would not remove anyone from "discussing" is politics or candidacy in any of his appearances on the campaign trail. Can't stifle "free" speech now, can we?

(23,756 posts)On October 27, 1988 Then VP George Bush was campaigning for president. He came to Tacoma, Washington. WA was a swing state at the time. He originally wanted his appearance at the University of Puget Sound fieldhouse but because he wasn't willing to have dialogue they told him to take his show elsewhere. He went to the Tacoma Pavillion downtown instead. It was a very closed and controlled audience. Because myself and 6 others were unbknown at the time, we got into the event. We began to aks questions...as we did so, we were hit, spit upon, I lost my glasses and was slapped and who gets arrested? Us! We did! But this time it also got out of control and Bush had to end his appearance early and leave. Since then a GOP presidential nominee has not campaigned as the nominee inside the city limits of Tacoma. Most often IF they come to Pice County they have an event on the airbace of Army base just south of the city.

(5,624 posts)debates. I want Mic Checks, glitterbombs, surprise unscripted questions, etc etc.
These "debates" so far have just been an Orwellian "2 hours of hate" from the GOOP establishment. John King should have stuck the infidelity question on Newt, as well as his "food stamp" racist comments. But he backed off and let the GinGrinch have it. The corporate/mainstream media is not going to ask the REAL questions, and its important that we not let the GOP control these debates.
