Things are getting tough and they want someone to pay. Just like the Germans when Hitler took over. They were hurting and wanted an easy way out. The Newt is blaming the blacks, the immigrants, the media, and his authoritarian followers love it. The Newt is even blaming the Washington DC insiders and his followers are not smart enough to recognize that that would include him. They dont want reason, they want someone to victimize. They dont care if they have freedom, they will follow a dictator today. Dont under estimate them.

It would help if the majority of Dems were not republican light, the media wasn't so lazy or outright against anti corporate policies, and if they had a backbone to fight for what is right.

(55,981 posts)Studies by psychologists show that people who are afraid tend to think and behave more conservatively. Hence, Republicans like to to stir up fear: of blacks, gays, Muslims, immigrants, liberals, etc. Our challenge is to show how progressive policies best address those fears.

(61,533 posts)If Newt is the Republican nominee, it will be scorched earth. Newt will run the dirtiest campaign imaginable, and I believe that Obama will respond in kind.
No matter who is the R nominee, we're going to get millions and millions of dollars worth of superpac ads from corporations attacking Obama. It's going to be an ugly campaign season.
