Count Ted Cruz as a “No” vote on Chuck Hagel as Obama’s defense secretary

"Newly elected Texas Sen. Ted Cruz served notice Sunday he likely won’t be voting to approve former Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel as secretary of defense if the president nominates him as expected. Word is President Barack Obama could nominate Hagel to head the Pentagon this week. And the prospects have ignited criticism from Republicans who say Hagel’s soft on Iran and no friend of Israel. “It is very difficult to imagine a circumstance in which I could could support him,” Cruz said on Fox News Sunday. “He has consistently advocated weakness with respect to our enemies, with respect to the nation of Iran … Weakness in a secretary of defense invites conflict because bullies don’t respect weakness.”

Sometimes I venture to Fox on Sundays since I still enjoy hearing from Joe Trippi who is often a guest and I think it's important to listen to their talking points when I am feeling patient, but today McConnell was enough stomach upset for me...
