Question about Alex Jones's logic

ok, when he challenged Piers Morgan to a boxing match, he said he, Alex, would wear red white and blue, and suggested that Piers wear the Jolly Roger.

I looked it up, and the Jolly Roger is this:



Why would Piers wear pirate boxing trunks? Please explain Alex Jones's thinking to me.

By the way, Piers should have answered, "but I don't wanna be a pirate!"
