From Reddit:
Kermit Womack is radio talk show host who publicly released the addresses of politicians he opposed on his radio show. While he is not directly responsible for the killing of the cat or its use in a hate crime, he helped enable and encouraged (to a certain degree) actions against these political figures.
Contact the FCC and file a complaint. Kurm-am's licence expires in a month.
File complaints here Make a online complaint - it's easy and fast.
Here is the radio station.
edit: More information about Kermit's involvement in the cat killing. Leave out the date of the complaint and just add a detailed explanation of his involvement - they can't ignore the complaints if they get bombed with them.
Here's the Reddit link - it has links to the FCC complaint page and details about Womack's involvement.

(42,694 posts)The complaint form asks for the date of the broadcast, but no one seems to know when it was.
BeHereNow
(17,162 posts)The story is well documented- I included press links with my
compliant to the FCC.
There is no question as to the source of the broadcast, so the date really
doesn't matter.

(42,694 posts)or even to lose their license.
I've practiced before the FCC for three decades. And while the FCC doesn't "require" a tape or transcript, as a practical reality, having specific proof of the complained of broadcast definitely does matter

(17,162 posts)The details will be revealed with investigation-
I think the point of filing the complaint is to turn up the heat on
the investigation.

(21,691 posts)There was when I first read it, but stuff does get edited.
I understand how the FCC works, and I know inundating it with complaints will get attention.

(37,648 posts)well, cats should be inside. In my neighborhood, some crazy went around the neighborhood and murdered outside cats. It was awful. Pure evil.

(11,175 posts)Some people let their cats out, while others keep them inside. If you let the cat go out, you accept the risk of an accident with a car, but not the risk of intentional animal cruelty.
Suppose the radio station publicized the home address of a Democratic campaign worker, and somebody went there, broke in through a window, and vandalized the house. No one would say that the owner should have had iron grillwork over the windows. The fault is that of the vandal and, IMO, of the broadcaster who facilitated and implicitly encouraged the vandalism.

(17,162 posts)As I said earlier- I DO let my fur people out for a few hours each day-
AFTER the Coyote hour AM, as I call it, and back in BEFORE the Coyote hour PM.
At most, they will go one yard away- but always stay close enough to my
open fencing to get in the yard quickly if danger looms.
They have a fierce protector in my Jindo dog- she considers them
litter mates, family members and the Jindo is known for it's protective nature of
property and its people both two and four legged.
I am ALWAYS home when my fur people are outside and would never leave them
outside when I am not home. They are trained to come when I whistle and I don't
worry too much about them because I know they don't go far and always come when I call.
All of that being said- the point of the atrocity in Arkansas is that NO ONE should
have to fear acts of brutality against their family members!
How long before this person harms someones' child because they let them ride their
bike around the neighborhood?
I hope the FBI shuts this radio station down and finds the sociopath who committed this
horrendous crime.
NO one should have to fear violence against their loved ones because some
HATE TALK radio host encourages violence against them
To me, this case is no different than Sarah Palin's "targets" on her FB page
which I am fairly certain resulted in the shooting of Gabby.
Enough- we have to let these people know we will not accept calls to violence
by people like Palin or this kook in Arkansas.

(37,648 posts)radio, then to hell with the cat, right?
It could've been ANY crazy that would kill an outside cat. For any insane or evil reason. If it happened to be someone who hates liberals, well, that's just one of many reasons a wacko would kill an outside cat.
Outside cats don't live that long.

(21,691 posts)It doesn't matter. What matters is filing a complaint with the FCC.
BeHereNow
(17,162 posts)It will encourage a more thorough investigation and
involvement by the FBI.
That is how I want MY tax dollars spent this week.
I want them to catch the murderer and silence
the radio voice that incited his/her actions.

(45,319 posts)So CBS should hear the outcry as well. Contact CBS Radio here:

I'd also say call your local CBS Radio Stations and let them hear it too.

(45,319 posts)The FCC form will take time to get to the mother network, calling them or mailing them directly cuts out the wait time.
The form is also a must do, of course. This is a 'why not do this as well'. And the more memos running around the old network halls the faster they address the issue.

(78,249 posts)Hmmm... sounds like "Kermit"...
Also, they own a station in Russellville, KARV. I think the complaints should specify that station, as the cat murder occurred in Russellville.

(13,776 posts)For the killer to know which cat belonged there, the house must have been watched. Maybe for a long time, and presumably repeatedly (first to figure out which neighborhood cat to kill by seeing it go inside, then at least one more time to go back to kill it).
