Sunday Talk Shows: Justice Sotomayor in her first broadcast interview

Meet the Press
Gen. Colin Powell (Ret.) speaks out exclusively to Meet the Press to make the case for fellow Vietnam war veteran Chuck Hagel as President Obama’s pick for Secretary of Defense. Also, with important decisions looming regarding United States’ role in Afghanistan, the former secretary of state weighs in on where he sees America’s place in an increasingly complex world. Plus, he endorsed the president in 2008 and 2012, what would he like to see from the commander-in-chief during a second term?

As Washington gears up for the upcoming fight over the debt ceiling and contentious confirmation hearings for the president’s cabinet picks, how are both sides positioning themselves politically? What do the president’s nominees tell us about his second-term agenda? What, if anything, can get done in Washington? Our roundtable weighs in: Newark’s Democratic Mayor Cory Booker; Fmr. Gov. Haley Barbour GOP strategist Mike Murphy; and NBC’s Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell

CBS Face the Nation
Sunday: Battles at home and abroad -- the upcoming Senate confirmation battles over President Barack Obama's nominations of Chuck Hagel to lead the Defense Department, John Brennan to lead the CIA and Jack Lew for Treasury Secretary with Sen. John McCain and Sen. Joe Manchin

Plus: A look back and a look ahead at the War in Afghanistan with Gen. Stanley McChrystal whose new biography, "My Share of the Task" has Washington talking.

Plus, Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a member of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Campaign, Mayors Against Illegal Guns about the initiative and what he thinks the White House can get done in regards to gun control.

Plus, a panel discusses all of that and more: John Dickerson, CBS News Political Director, The Washington Post's Rajiv Chandrasekaran and Cook Political Report's Amy Walter

ABC This Week
As President Obama announces his new national security team, Armed Services Committee member Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., ranking member of the Foreign Relations Committee, join Council on Foreign Relations President Richard Haass and ABC News Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz to discuss the nominations, plus the debate over Afghanistan and the latest threats from Iran.

Will former Sen. Chuck Hagel survive contentious confirmation hearings to become the next defense secretary? As Hamid Karzai visits Washington, how many troops should the U.S. keep in Afghanistan? And will Iran pose the greatest challenge overseas in President Obama's second term? Our foreign policy roundtable tackles those topics and more, Sunday on "This Week."

Then, the powerhouse political roundtable breaks down the domestic battles ahead, from the looming budget cliffs to the gun control debate to the fight over President Obama's Cabinet picks, with Nobel Prize-winning economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman; Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan; Bloomberg News executive editor Al Hunt; "PBS NewsHour" co-anchor and senior correspondent Judy Woodruff; and David Walker, former U.S. comptroller general and founder and CEO of the Comeback America Initiative.

Plus, Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, honorary chairs of No Labels, tackle whether both parties can ever come together in Washington.

Fox News Sunday
In a Fox News exclusive, Chris Wallace asks Neera Tanden, President of the Center for American Progress, and Larry Pratt, Executive Director of Gun Owners of America about the gun control debate in Washington and around the nation.

The Hagel nomination tops the list of the President’s picks taking a barrage of criticism from Capitol Hill. Chris Wallace talks with two key members of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Republican Kelly Ayotte, and Democrat Richard Blumenthal only on Fox News Sunday.

CNN State of The Union
Gun Control: Newtown shootings: Gov. Daniel P. Malloy (D-Conn.). David Keene, NRA.

The non-partisan group "No Labels": Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.); former Gov. Jon Huntsman . Panel: Rep. Elijah E. Cummings Rep. Marsha Blackburn , Jeff Zeleny; Michael Scherer

Fareed Zakaria GPS
On GPS Sunday: Is Hagel the right man for the Pentagon?

On GPS this Sunday, Fareed looks at the controversy over President Obama’s decision to nominate Chuck Hagel for the job of defense secretary. Wall Street Journal columnist Bret Stephens debates Peter Beinart on whether Hagel is the right man for the job.

Then, are we facing a new Cold War? A look at why Russia and the United States are slipping into a legislative tit-for-tat.

In our What in the World segment, Fareed takes a look at the uncertain future of the country with the world’s largest oil reserves – what’s in store for Venezuela? And, can a single coin save the American economy? What if it’s a trillion dollar coin? Historian Bruce Bartlett and CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin weigh the proposal.

Up w/Chris Hayes
Diversity in the Obama cabinet, John Brennan and the CIA, Lance Armstrong, the Baseball Hall of Fame and accountability for doping

On Sunday’s Up w/ Chris Hayes, we’ll discuss the apparent lack of diversity among President Obama’s recent cabinet appointments. This week, President Obama announced three cabinet appointments, all of whom were white men. Then we’ll focus in on one of those appointments in particular. This week, President Obama nominated his trusted counter-terrorism adviser, John Brennan, to head the CIA. Brennan’s name was last floated as a possible CIA director in 2008, when his full-throated defense of the Bush-era policies of rendition and enhanced interrogation techniques short of waterboarding — which he says is torture — prompted widespread outrage. What’s changed to make Brennan’s nomination so much more acceptable this time around?

There hasn’t been much accountability for the sorts of practices Brennan and others advocated, just as there’s been little accountability for fraud on Wall Street and dysfunction in our political system. But there is at least one area of American life where wrongdoing and unethical behavior have been widely and strongly condemned: professional sports. We’ll look at the latest developments in the crackdown on the use of performance enhancing drugs in both baseball and cycling. Why has there been so much accountability in sports, and so little elsewhere?

First time I've seen Manchin all over the teevee. Teaming up with a repub. to promote "no labels" yet. What a DINO.

Looking forward to seeing Sotomayor, however!
