Drudge's top story: Armed nutcases to build fortress community

Yes, this is really what Matt feels is the biggest news in the world tonight

He really has gone full Looney Tunes Prepper on his site this week:

A group of like-minded patriots, bound together by pride in American exceptionalism, plan on building an armed community to protect their liberty.

The group, named Citadel, intends to purchase 2,000 to 3,000 acres for the project in western Idaho. The community will comprise of 3,500 to 7,000 families of patriotic Americans who "voluntarily choose to live together in accordance with Thomas Jefferson's ideal of Rightful Liberty."

(...)
While Citadel may sound wonderful to many who are reading this, the community has posted a warning on their home page:

"Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and Establishment Republicans will likely find that life in our community is incompatible with their existing ideology and preferred lifestyles."

from:

Did we need any further proof that modern day conservatism is just a massive cult?

When do they buy the matching Nikes?

The truth will be that they don't want to interrupt their American lifestyle that they enjoy now. They think they want a community like this but to actually buy into it? Probably will end up a shot up ghost town.

I can't wait to see who plays Rambo Snooki. Is Palin moving there by chance? She does seem so right for the part. I hope she doesn't send her daughter Caribou Skipper to do it instead.

I saw the pic you included. Bo set that up in the hills near Kamiah, ID. He had a bunch of idiots that imagined living up there with Bo and not having to pay taxes. Bo was up there for awhile but as soon as he had all the lots sold, he bailed. I'm not sure how it's working out for the rest of them up there these days.

In just one 30 seconds listen I gave, BecKKK has been actively RECRUITING like minded immigrants from the rest of the country to relocate to Texas to drive it even farther into wingnut-dom - low taxes, more guns, more John WAYNE blustering crap. Holy Zeus, it's a reenactment of the 1820s again!1

Every able-bodied Patriot aged 13 and older governed by this Agreement shall annually demonstrate proficiency with the rifle of his/her choice by hitting a man-sized steel target at 100 yards with open sights at the Citadel range. Each Resident shall have 10 shots and must hit the target at least 7 times.

Every able-bodied Patriot of age within the Citadel will maintain one AR15 variant in 5.56mm NATO, at least 5 magazines and 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

Every child attending Citadel schools — with parental discretion for maturity — shall have as part of every semester's class curriculum basic marksmanship and firearms safety training leading to the proficiency test on the child's 13th birthday as a "Coming of Age" rite of passage (a parent may attend the classes or personally train the child if so desired). Children attending schools beyond the Citadel, or home-schooled, are required to meet the same proficiency standards at age 13.

Run to a place that is full of freedom! Where there's apparently no private property:

"One of the primary reasons for a lease paradigm versus private property inside the walls is our desire to make the community for Patriots only"

Where (micro-)state is responsible for employment:

"What About Employment for the Residents?
There will be some initial jobs with III Arms Company offered. Those employees will need locally provided goods and services, creating some additional opportunities."

And where major decisions are decided by a select group of people (the panels mentioned in the agreement).

And where the state dictates your daily actions:

"All Patriots, who are of age and are not legally restricted from bearing firearms, shall agree to remain armed with a loaded sidearm whenever visiting the Citadel Town Center. Firearm shall be on-the-person and under the control of the Resident, not merely stored in a vehicle."

Freedom!

Isolated far away from the rest of civilization.. what could possibly go wrong?

What I love about the teabaggers is that they have this like rock hard love of our founding fathers but they don't know jack shit about what they actually stood for - and if you try to tell them what actually happened they blow a gasket.
