When I'm biking, I'm always mad at the people driving and when I'm driving, I get mad at the bikers.

The OP said that it took too much energy to stop and start on a bike so they should not have to stop but that it didn't take any energy for cars to stop and start so they should have to.

I've heard and read variations on this many times. Regarding your OP, I know bicyclists who think that way and many who do not.

the difference, of course, is that a bad driver could easily get me killed or severely injured, whereas my blowing a stop sign on an empty street is a victimless crime. It's an empty street and momentum is a terrible thing to waste.

Cyclists have been known to kill pedestrians, but it's very rare. Motorized vehicles manage to kill people with predictable regularity. Drivers routinely disregard all sorts of traffic laws like speeding, following too closely, and changing lanes without signaling which are all things that manage to kill quite a few people. Nobody seems to mind too much, but dog forbid a cyclist runs a stop sign in a residential neighborhood with not another soul around.

Read Frazz instead.
I'm sick to death of motorists whining about cyclists blowing stop signs. I live on a street corner with stop signs. I've observed that 90% of all the motorists do not stop at the stop sign unless there is traffic. No oncoming traffic, roll on thru! No different than the cyclists except that the motorists are irresponsibly operating machinery that is capable of delivering lethal force.

P.S. Idaho law allows cyclists to treat stop signs as yield signs.

Pearls Before Swine is IMHO the funniest strip ever. Pickles is another consistent favorite.

I never thought of comics as a one or the other thing.
