Newt slams Romney for living "in a world of Swiss bank accounts...making $20 million for no work."

Bwahahahaha... Oh my ...this is perfect!

Capitalism on trial
By Greg Sargent

I know Newt is just saying this for political reasons, but it’s still pretty remarkable that he’s now flat-out endorsing the Democratic argument about Mitt Romney’s offshoring and his massive no-work profiting off investments:

When asked about Romney’s position on immigration, Gingrich said that deporting all undocumented immigrants is unrealistic.
“You have to live in a world of Swiss bank accounts and Cayman Island accounts and making $20 million for no work, to have some fantasy this far from reality,” Gingrich said.

Wow. First Gingrich endorses the Dem argument about Romney’s Bain years, claiming Bain’s profiteering “undermined capitalism.” Now he’s done it again, mocking Romney not just for offshoring, but for raking in huge profits off of investments while remaining idle.

Romney is half right when he says his critics are putting capitalism on trial. This election is putting his brand of capitalism on trial.

Whatever Gingrich’s motives for saying this stuff, he presumably is doing so because he thinks even some conservative-leaning voters will find Romney’s elite business practices distasteful. And judging by Romney’s rapidly spiking negative ratings among independents and blue collar whites, he’s probably right. There appears to be something approaching bipartisan consensus around the idea that some practices of capitalism are not completely above reproach. Who woulda thunk it?

When will Newt realize that his $500,000 debt to Tiffany's is just a bit out there for most Americans?

offshoring the money in foreign bank accounts doesn't create American jobs. But I doubt he'll go that far, because then the hiding of tax savings from lowering tax rates on the wealthy will be apparent, and refute their excuse that lower tax rates create jobs.

Being the only person standing between us and Auschwitz sounds like hard work to me.

(Sorry, I know I keep going on about Newt's megalomaniac comments about himself, but I don't think they get nearly enough attention. They worry me far more than his adultery, although I suppose it's all part of the same pattern).

Newt is one to talk his business Practices are little better than Romneys. Insider trading anyone? he is no less a crook than Nixon "I am not a crook".

Of course one has to note that Gingrich comes from the south and as i know from the experience of being southern (i am in the state of Georgia), Hypocracy is just as Popular here as Bible thumping and Confederate flags. and the Hypocracy goes along with Bible thumping, "I hate muslims cause they hate me bible says so". they say they read the bible and take away the wrong answers and lack understanding of what the bible is telling them.

Neut, what color tie was Mittens wearing last night?

"Well, when you hide millions of dollars in offshore bank accounts and make $20 million a year doing nothing I guess you can buy any color tie you want."

At any rate - this is proving to be one hell of a show

I love it when they call each other names that apply to themselves, some times even more so.

What really cracks me up ... they don't even consider the glaring hypocrisy.

A one million dollar line of credit at a luxury retailer is available to good, old-fashioned, hard working Americans; it's only once you're into *eight* figures, that's out of touch. All four of the GOP candidates have more money than 99% of Americans could ever dream of having. A piece just ran a couple of weeks ago about how Santorum's net worth has skyrocketed since he left Congress, and he is the poorest one. What's truly appalling is when they talk about how people on food stamps have too much money with which to buy food. I have often wondered when Newt talks about welfare queens and food stamp cheats if he has ever actually met anybody on public relief before. (I would wager that the answer is "no," because he keeps complaining about black people, but the majority of those accepting some form of government aid are white.) It is so unbecoming when these wealthy individuals complain about the bounty the poor people enjoy.
