"East Haven Mayor: 'I Might Have Tacos' For Dinner"

I think we can get a sense of the tenor of Southern Connecticut republicans from this incident. A having for his cops busted for racial profiling of Hispanics in his town, that's what the mayor said when a teepee reporter asked him what he intended to do in the wake of the arrests and charges.

but that's pretty common in that part of the country.

I had a lot of fun up there introducing them to seasoned food, first from Julia Child and later with hot peppers. I got them addicted to chile peppers and moved away.

I still send a few people care packages of real chile every year.

Youre right. There is a remarkable amount of prejudice amongst some.

lives about 15 minutes away from East Haven. Just so you know it's not really as much of a culinary wasteland as you might think.

Good thing all you chimichanga lovers in New Mexico are so racially tolerant.

who are still cooking the way their grannies cooked: good, plain, New England food. The emphasis is on "plain."

And I didn't proselytize spices from NM. I moved there from Dixie, where they also season their food unless they're relying on deep frying inappropriate items.

He already "did something for the latinos" that day, by downing a 6 pack of Tecate.
