Is this some crazy opportunistic bs or what? I both cringed and felt a little admiration.

Why would you cringe? I thought someone had made it into an ad but that's not the case, it's just the footage of her getting a round of applause when she came in and Obama giving her a hug. Not sure what you mean.

You cringed when the President hugged a very courageous woman for whom he has stated many times how much he admires her? Am I misunderstanding your post? I sure hope so.

Edited to add: It seems there was an ad that made you cringe and not the hug, right? I watched the clip and there was no ad hence my confusion.

It was a nice thing to watch. The only downside was Boehner acting like he wanted to be on the golf course or in the tanning booth.

She is a HERO of mine. I got to meet her before her horrific injury and was highly impressed with her then. Since her injury I have only become more impressed with her. The way she has handled the injury and recovery with grace and poise has only enforced my appreciation of her. SHE IS A TRUE AMERICAN PATRIOT!!
