7. It depends upon the TYPE of discussion you want to have.

If you want to contribute to the recent discussion about gun safety, then GD is the correct place. If you just want to talk to the echo-chamber, then you would need to post to the "Gundungeon". I'm not sure what the exact link is, your question is best answered by posting in the Meta-discussion forum.
