"Your time really would be better spent trying to explain to those who might like Kookinich or his positions why they should support Obama rather than mocking them. "

Nothing like self-righteous hypocrisy.

When Kucinich voted for health care reform, Jane Hamsher launched a site demanding he return donations.

She called the bill "fascism." (Sound familiar: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022209630)

Rather than actually helping the poor, this bill is a dangerous and unprecedented step on the road to domination of government by private corporate players who use it to suppress competition and secure their profits — the textbook definition of fascism.

http://fdlaction.firedoglake.com/2010/03/17/dennis-kucinich-will-return-money-to-donors/

This is the same Jane Hamsher that many people here laud.

Kucinich's last vote in Congress was a yes on the fiscal cliff deal.

I appreciated those two votes. Joining Fox is not a good move.

Obama says things I agree with pretty often too but they're often not the same things Denny the K says.

You got the votes you wanted for Obama and now it seems to me all you want to do is gloat, the midterms are coming before all that long and you'll be begging for votes again and crying how the nasty evil EmoProg Firebaggers are going to sit at home.

Mocking people is not the way to get them to listen to you and take your words to heart, precisely the opposite in fact. If you truly want to effect progressive change you would be bringing every potential Democratic voter to your side instead of trying to alienate those with whom you do not completely agree.

The money quote from the article I posted.

In the context of the psychological theory of motivated reasoning, this makes a great deal of sense. Based on pretty indisputable observations about how the brain works, the theory notes that people feel first, and think second. The emotions come faster than the "rational" thoughts—and also shape the retrieval of those thoughts from memory. Therefore, if reading insults activates one's emotions, the "thinking" process may be more likely to be defensive in nature, and focused on preserving one's identity and preexisting beliefs.

He can do whatever he fucking wants to do. That does not mean that we who have always liked him will "follow blindly" because quite frankly most of the K people that I know have quite independent minds and really do not fall for the starry eyed worshipful crap that would make them follow him to Fox. I have never watched Fox and will not be starting now. I will most likely not hear any more about what he says there than I hear when Obama or all the others end up on Fox for their interviews. I like DK but what he does now is his business he is no longer working for us.

Like I said in one other thread similar to this, he should only work for the democrats? Why, because they treated him so well?

I won't be replying. This is just mean, silly and stupid. Let it go. Dennis is beholding to only himself and if this is what he wants to do then fine. I really don't know why you feel such a deep need to try to bring other people down. Another post about this from you shows that you are just being cruel. There are terms for people who love to make others feel sad and pained. I won't use them here, would love to but I won't be back to see your snarky, snide, bully reply so there is no gain for me in it. IOW, your behavior here makes DU suck for a lot of people and I am quite certain that no matter what you think, anyone working for Obama would not consider your manner with others an asset.

For those that are here that are hurt by this you should feel badly for doing this but I am entirely certain you are not capable of feeling badly for anyone. Hopefully they will come to realize very quickly who you are. They will then do what I and many others do, not be a part of anything you are involved in until you step so far over the line they have to say something.

Argue against the war?

Argue for single payer?

This may be news to you but he has done things that many Democrats applaud and the Administration has done hings that many Democrats deplore.

You have no monopoly on what is a Democrat.

Thanks for confirming this OP has very little to do with Fox.

114. you can search Kucinich here at DU and find many posts

by people over the years who have found him offensive and self-serving. You know this because you referenced it yourself.

yes, he has some defenders and supporters among democrats in general (in the single digit percentages based on presidential election results) and an even greater share among DUrs I am sure.

and as far as the OP having little to do with Fox, well let's make it about that - how do you feel about Mr. Kucinich's choice to work for Murdoch's Fox News?

As far as his decision, it's a bad one. Fox should be shunned. But Kucinich shouldn't be.

The next day I actually started a thread how entertaining that was and recommended it to others on DU. Quickly reality set in and I regretted doing that. However to the end of my days I will cherish the spewing denial Rove raved on Fox election night. As to Kucinich if he engages in anything noteworthy I will trust those with more fortitude than I to report it. I would prefer to stare into the sun than watch Fox News.

You're lashing out at people for despising Fox.

You think a thread about despising Fox is "embittered" and "hateful."

Now that you've done PR for Fox, you have a nice day.

on drone killings, torture, Reaganomics, and other right-wing measures, this is appalling. You can tell from some of the posts that there are quite a few DUers who are Fox and Hate Radio addicts. For myself, I would NEVER criticize Obama in front of any Repukes - only among Dems, who by definition want him to succeed (at least in his Democratic initiatives). Kucinich has completely debased himself by this move, and he's now ruined an honorable career in Congress by associating himself with Bob Beckel, Lanny Davis, and Juan Williams, and all of the other traitors who take money from traitors Murdoch and Ailes.

Lots of name calling and bullshit but no actual point.

Who gives a shit what Kucinich does? He lost, the guy needed a job. Will I tune into Fox to see him? Hell no I wouldn't tune in Fox to see the damn weather. I just don't get the point of this.

Is there not enough division in the party for you already? Honestly, did you post this because you thought you were being funny or because you wanted to rile up Kucinich supporters?

I just don't get it.

Criticizing Fox Noise upsets Kucinich supporters? Really?

FOX is more to do with the video equivalent of tabloid journalism than a it has to do with being a serious site that reports news.
Never use a FOX story as your only source for the news as their credibility can be very undependable..

is the same people who hype FDL didn't seem to have a problem when the group threw Kucinich under a bus.

When Kucinich voted for health care reform, Jane Hamsher launched a site demanding he return donations.

She called the bill "fascism." (Sound familiar: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022201466)

Rather than actually helping the poor, this bill is a dangerous and unprecedented step on the road to domination of government by private corporate players who use it to suppress competition and secure their profits — the textbook definition of fascism.

Hes starving! Needs to eat & cant feed his family on the millions he made in congress. Or the money from his books. Or his pension. And dammit, there was simply no other place in the country to get a job! Might as well prop up some bullshit fear-mongering RW "news" channel by being the "fair and balanced" poster boy!

He's takin' it to the man, man. Cuz knuckle-draggers are SO open minded! Besides, fox once "let" Dennis be in a debate! Now, I know any logical person would think that fox "let" Dennis debate so their dickbrained viewers could point & laugh at the loony left "libtard" but Noooooooo. They did it because they sincerely value his insight and opinions. Just like NOW.

You just dont understand.
