Ok. The NRA "supposedly" champions and protects the 2nd Amendment.

What other multimillion dollar organizations champion and protect the other 26 ratified amendments? It seems the 2nd Amendment is the only one that is important to some people.

Are there any standout groups for all of the other rights we value? I can think of some that may qualify but not for a specific amendment.

The rest is artifice. Even Scarborough admitted as much on Charlie Rose last night.

He spoke out strongly against George Zimmerman's defenders when the Trayvon Martin murder was in the news. The guy may be right-wing overall but he is fairly reasonable on gun issues, he is not anti-gun but he is for some regulation and he is sickened by the extreme gun nuts.

He says a lot of conservatives have contacted him to tell him they approve of his position on banning assault weapons. He said that if the GOP stonewalls the President's reforms, they will lose the House in 2014. He thinks most conservative voters want something done as much as we do.

I know they are nothing more than a gun manufacturing lobby. It's just that they seem to be the highest profile and one amendment exclusively.

with all the others, the NRA wouldn't be in the political world nearly as deeply as they have become, IMHO.

ACLU member for many years..love them..they have shirked their duties on this..
