I'm not going to post a RW meme. But Democratic politicians should show trigger discipline.

I'm not going to post a RW meme to show what I'm talking about, but this happens every few days or so, and today it's VA state delegate Jim Morrissey.

Democratic Politicians: if you're going to pose with a gun for a photo op for God's sake show appropriate trigger discipline. This isn't very hard. 17-year-olds in boot camp learn it after less than a day.

We don't need to make their arguments for us.

1. I think we've gotten past the point where Democrats need to pose with guns.

Those who continue down that path need a new perspective.

Though, if some Dem decides he or she MUST pose with a firearm, it would be best to show some brains.

4. No, this is always "nobody needs a gun like this"

Despite the fact that all any of the politicians doing this are actually advocating is to change the shape rather than the capabilities of the gun they are holding.

Yes, this is a sore subject with me.

2. The trigger faux pas aside, politicians should not promote guns.

A few guns need to stay at home, the fewer the better. Public toting needs to be stigmatised like cigarettes or something.

3. This is always in the context of "nobody needs a gun like this"

It's particularly irksome because this is the most dishonest argument our party makes. "Doesn't this gun look scary?" (nevermind the fact that I'm not doing anything about equally capable guns, only looking to change the shape of this gun's grip.)

Public carry (concealed or open) is not my thing and I think it should largely be curtailed.

1. All firearms are always loaded.
2. Never let a firearm's muzzle point at anything you do not want to destroy.
3. Keep your finger OFF the trigger until the target is in your sights.
4. Be sure of your target.
