I received a phone call a while back from the Obama campaign about participating in a national day of service as part of inauguration activities. I'm volunteering this Sat. It's not too late to sign up to help out somewhere in your community. Time slots can be as short as one hour.

Any one else participating?

I've been volunteering there every Thursday for about a year & a half. It's one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done.
Everybody can be great ... because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.

I just enjoy volunteering. I encourage everyone I know to do it any way they can. It gets me out of myself, and caring about something more. Also, it's a great way to meet people with similar interests.
