"He overrode the wishes of householders to build a £100million golf course by their homes.
But it seems even Donald Trump cannot defeat Mother Nature.
The US billionaires controversial Aberdeenshire course, Trump International Golf Links Scotland, was battered by North Sea storms last month, causing a large chunk of pathway to fall away.
The collapsed path, near the fourth tee, had been covered in neatly trimmed turf but now lies exposed to the elements with pipes running out of the ground."

(25,704 posts)I have heard the course is excellent but overpriced and I sure as heck am not going to play it until I play Muirfield or North Berwick forty times each.
But I am told that the course was built on "wandering" dunes. Most links courses are kinda built on wandering dunes but over time there have been enough done to keep them planted where they are at. These dunes want to move and the course is quite young.
Also, take what the "campaigners" say with may large grains of salt. There is one green really exposed to the sea (4th iirc) but the damage is minimal and will be cleaned up soon.
