Why doesn't the Senate pass the House Progressive Caucus Budget?

House GOP members want the Senate to pass a budget? There's an excellent budget prepared by the House Progressive Caucus that would go a long way toward solving the deficit problem and putting Americans back to work. Why doesn't the Senate just pass that budget and send it to the House? Oh, the GOP want the Senate to pass their budget? Too bad; it seems we have a difference of opinion. Isn't that what negotiations are about? Let's start on the Democratic side with a budget we can support! Of course, I doubt McConnell and his band of GOP Senate wonks would even let such a budget come to a vote. Then Democrats could really go after the GOP!!!

I think someone needs to tell them, they haven't voted on any budget in about four years.

55 Dems - Claire McCaskill, Pryor, Landrieu, Tester, Baucus, and the new Senator from North Dakota. Do you see any of these people voting something that looks remotely progressive.

From what I remember, it's the ONLY budget proposal that actually balances the budget AND balances it in a relatively short period of time. Something like a decade or a little over.

And as a negotiating tool it would be a GREAT start. As to the Blue Dog senators, let them vote AGAINST a budget that actually balances the budget (relatively) quickly and doesn't abuse the working class and poor while doing so. IOW, FORCE them, along with the Republicans, to vote AGAINST a fair budget proposal. As I said, it would be a good start.
