What the Lance Armstrong confession means to me...

My uncle was terminally diagnosed and lost his battle with Cutaneous T cell lymphoma three years ago. In addition the medical journals, holistic and spiratual healing processes that our family went through; my uncle placed his hope in the Lance Armstrong "story" that he too, could beat cancer and return to an active lifestyle.

Lance Armstrong didn't just lie, cheat and pocket sponsor monies, he stole the HOPE from dying individuals; just like my uncle on their death beds.

Take that to your eventual grave, Lance...

...might it be that steroids can help stave off cancer? I don't know. I haven't researched this at all and I'm not likely to but sometimes the most important discoveries are made in the most roundabout way.

I never idolized Armstrong but his lying inspired my new sig line.

However, Armstrong very much so exploited his condition and duped a lot of folks (myself included) that in hope lies the Armstrong 'story'.

because despite the cheating he did to win at cycling, he still was victorious over cancer and did return to an active lifestyle that the performance enhancing drugs would not have been needed for.

hang on to the truth of what happened there... the defeat of cancer was real!

But Lance Armstrong DID beat cancer. Whether or not he took performance enhancing drugs doesnt change that.

A lot of folks looked to Armstrong as a hero who beat cancer and returned to an active lifestyle who wins 7 Tour de France titles.

The story writes itself. ...and Lance ran with it.

This is what lying does. It changes everything.

Holy shit. I've tolerated a lot of hate being leveled at Armstrong for his doping, lying, and bullying, but the OP is so off target, it's unreal.

Armstrong had cancer. He beat it.

If that isn't inspiration enough for cancer victims....

Damn.
