There are a lot of professional and amateur athletes who are good honest decent people.

They help out charities. They work with children. They work long days to become the best they can at their sport. And they do it because they love the sport. They may not be the best in the world or go to the Super Bowl or win the Tour de France. But they have a great deal of self discipline and provide enjoyment for a lot of people.

They don't cheat at their sport because they want to win by competing fairly.

I think a few athletes at the top can tarnish an entire sport, like cycling. The same thing happens in other areas of life. The answer is to clean the sport up rather than to invent a sport based upon doping and doing things that may be ultimately harmful to one's health.
